Penguins Roll to 6-1 Victory at Wright State

Cedarville, Ohio - The Youngstown State men's tennis team earned a 6-1 win over Wright State on Saturday morning at the Cedarville University Outdoor Tennis Courts.

With the win, the Penguins improve to 10-7 overall and 3-1 in the Horizonl League. The Raiders fall to 7-17 and 0-5 on the year.

The Guins won the doubles point before taking five of the six singles matches. YSU won at No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6.

In doubles, YSU claimed the point with a 6-2 win at No. 1 as Danylo Veremeichuk and Joao Garretto earned the win. At No. 3, Pol Virgili Blanco and Yossi Dahan earned a 6-4 triumph.

In singles play, Veremeichuk won 7-6, 6-3 at No. 1, Joao Garretto won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2, Yossi Dahan earned a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 4, Erik Gran cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 and Virgili Blanco won in three sets - 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

YSU returns to action on Friday when it plays host to UIC in Streetsboro.
