Penguins Close Out Fall Tournament Slate at Viking Invitational

The Youngstown State men's tennis team will play its final tournament of the fall season this Friday through Sunday at the Viking Invitational at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion in Cleveland. Play each day is set to begin at 9 a.m.

Singles will feature one large 32-player singles draw, with a back-draw and a back-back-draw. There will be a 16-team doubles draw, with a back-draw and back-back-draw.

Teams Competing in the event are Binghamton, Cleveland State, Duquesne, Wright State, Youngstown State as well as a few unattached players.

The Penguins have had a busy fall playing tournaments in Illinois, Maryland and Kentucky as well as events at Toledo and Ohio State in Columbus.

Erik Gran leads the Penguins with 10 singles this fall while Laurentiu Mandocescu has won nine contests. Will Everett ranks third in singles wins with six.

In doubles play, Mandocescu has a team-leading eight victories.
