Crozier's Two-Hitter Leads Softball to Sweep of Niagara

Canfield, Ohio -- Sophomore Casey Crozier retired the first 15 batters she faced and tossed a complete-game three hitter with three strikeouts to lead the Youngstown State softball team to a 5-1, 10-1 doubleheader sweep over Niagara on Wednesday afternoon at McCune Park.

The Guins improve to 13-5 overall while Niagara falls to 4-16.

Senior Jordan Ingalls and juniors Vicky Rumph and Sarah Gable each had two hits in the game one victory.

In the nightcap, sophomore Sarah Ingalls went 2-for-2 and drove in three runs to lead the Guin's 10-hit attack.

Freshman Brooke Meenachan tallied a single and a two-run double and scored twice while senior Haley Thomas went 2-for-4 with a double.

The Guins jumped out to an early lead scoring four runs in the first after sending 10 batters to the plate.

They added two more in the second, one in the third and three more in the fourth.

The Guins host Butler, March 24, in the 2012 Horizon League opener at 1 p.m. at  McCune Park.
