Baltimore, Md. -- Senior Casey Crozier became Youngstown State's all-time wins leader after tossing a two-hitter with seven strikeouts in an 11-2 win over Coppin State on Saturday afternoon. The Penguins also lost to LaSalle, 5-1, earlier in the day.
Crozier, who improves to 6-2 on the season, collected her 47th career victory and did not allow a walk against Coppin State.
With the split, the Penguins improve to 11-8 on the year.
After Coppin State scored two unearned runs, the Penguins added a run in the fourth and another in the fifth to put the mercy rule in effect.
In the opener, freshman pitcher Caitlyn Minney pitched 5.2 scoreless innings of relief with nine strikeouts and allowed just three hits.
The Penguins, who left 11 runners on base, were led offensively by Sarah Dowd and Haley Knight, who each had two hits.
The Penguins host Eastern Michigan, Tuesday, March 18, in a doubleheader at the new on campus YSU Softball Complex beginning at 3 p.m.
