30 for 30
With 29 victories, the Penguins have tied the mark for the second-most wins in a single-season in school history. The school record for most wins in a season is 36 set in 2003. The Penguins also won 29 games in 2012, 2004 and 1994.

Crozier, Castiglione Sweep FInal Weekly Awards
For the second time this season, Youngstown State senior Casey Crozier and sophomore Miranda Castiglione have swept the Horizon League Softball Weekly Awards for the week of April 28-May 4, the league announced on Monday (May 5). Crozier was named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week while Castiglione was named the Horizon League Player of the Week. It marks the third weekly award for this season for Crozier and the second for Castiglione. The pair also swept the awards for the week of Feb. 17-23.

Castiglione Record Breaker
Sophomore Miranda Castiglione had a monster weekend at Detroit last week. Castiglione batted .545 (6-for-11) with four home runs and nine RBIs. She broke the school single-game record with seven runs batted in and tied the single-game record with three home runs against the Titans on May 4.

Crozier Breaks Single-Season K's Record
With 11 strikeouts last week, senior Casey Crozier broke the Youngstown State single-season strikeout record. Crozier, who leads the Horizon League with 186 strikeouts, broke the old mark of 179 set by Kelly Murphy in 2003.

Brian Campbell Notches 400th Career Victory
With the win over Dayton, Youngstown State Head Coach Brian Campbell earned the 400th victory of his career. His career mark is 406-301-2 in 14 years. His six-year record at YSU is 121-172-1. The Penguins have also won 99 games since the start of the 2011 season.

Ewing Oil
Senior Courtney Ewing has been one of the most consistent hitters in the Penguins' lineup. Earlier this year, she owned the Penguins longest hitting streak this season at 18 games from March 11 through April 6. She has now hit safely in 35 of her last 38 games and carries a batting average of .357 (46-for-129) during that span.

Crozier Re-Writing Record Book
Senior pitcher Casey Crozier has etched her name atop three career pitching records this season. Crozier is YSU's all-time leader in wins (59), strikeouts (555) and innings pitched (658.0). Crozier has seven career saves and ranks second with 16 shutouts and third all-time with 66 complete games.

Penguins Tough In Close Ones
One reason for the Penguins' success is that they have been able to pull out the close games. The Penguins are 12-3 in one-run games. In games decided by two runs or less, the Penguins own a 20-10 mark.

Castiglione Among Horizon League Best
Sophomore Miranda Castiglione has been performing among the best in the Horizon League. Castiglione, who is batting a league-best .407, leads the league with 68 hits, 43 runs scored and 109 total bases. She is second with a .457 on-base percentage and a .653 slugging percentage.

Crozier Tops in Horizon
Senior Casey Crozier is making a case for Horizon League Pitcher of the Year. Crozier leads league in wins (18), strikeouts (186), batters struck out looking (64), innings pitched (175.0) and games started (28). She also ranks second in earned-run average (2.32).
