Youngstown -- Dani Dadig, Paige Geanangel, Demi Ann Patonis and Lexi Zappitelli have all signed National Letters of Intent to join the Youngtown State University softball program, Head Coach Brian Campbell announced on Wednesday (Nov. 26).
"We are really pleased to have these four players join our program," Campbell said. "All four come from quality high school and summer programs and will strengthen our program."
Dadig, an outfielder from Pleasant Hill, Pa., is three-year letterwinner at Seton LaSalle High School and earned All-Section AA in 2013 and 2014 from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. As a freshman, she batted .500 with 36 stolen base and an on-base percentage of .698.
Last season, she helped Seton LaSalle to a sectional title and the WPIAL and PIAA playofffs.
Geanangel, a pitcher from Hopedale, Ohio, is a three-year letterwinner at Indian Creek High School and was named first-team all-state, Eastern District Player of the Year and Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a junior. She went 17-3 with 155 strikeouts and a 1.37 earned-run average. She also batted .468 with nine home runs and 21 RBIs.
A three-time first-team all-conference selection, Geanangel has posted a career record in the circle of 39-7 with a 1.43 earned-run average and 345 strikeouts.
Patonis, an infielder from Brentwood, Tenn., is a two-year letterwinner at Ravenwood High School. Last season, she batted .417 with 18 doubles, three home runs and 33 runs batted in. She also batted .405 with 20 deoubles and 30 RBIs as a sophomore.
In 2013, she was selected to the Under Armour Selection Game in Florida.
Zappitelli, a utility player from Conneaut, Ohio, was named first-team all-county as a junior at Conneaut High School.
She batted .427 with 16 doubles, five triples, three home runs and 44 RBIs.
