Indianapolis, Ind. Youngstown State senior Brittney Moffatt has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for April 24, the league announced on Monday. This is the second weekly award of Moffatt's career.
This is the third time this season a YSU player has won a weekly award. Freshman Maddi Lusk was named pitcher of the week on March 27 and freshman Tatum Christy earned the player-of-the-week award on April 3.
Moffatt, who won her first award on April 25, 2016, led the Penguins to a 6-0 week and batted .429 (9-for-21) with three runs scored and nine RBIs. She had four multi-hit games and three multi-RBI contests during the week.
Moffatt, who reached base in every game and did not strikeout, went 2-for-4 with four RBIs in a 7-4 win over Wright State and had a hit in five of the six games last week.
The Penguins host Kent State in a doubleheader, Tuesday, April 25, at 3 p.m.
