Junior Elizabeth Birkbeck's single to left-center field in the bottom of the fourth plated Maddi Lusk, who went 2-for-3, with the game's only run.

In the night cap, the Bonnies scored an unearned run in the top of the third to take a 1-0 lead. Yazmine Romero and Grace Cea each singled to put runners on the corners with one out when Lusk crushed her fourth home run of the season over the left-center field fence to give the Penguins a 3-1 lead. Tatum Christy followed with a double and scored on a two-out double by Alex DeLeon.

The Penguins added an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth when Sarah Bader scored on a fielding error.

Elle Buffenbarger struck out six in four-plus innings of work to register her fourth win of the year. After the Bonnies opened the top of the fifth with a pair of singles, Lusk came in relief and struck out the side and picked up her first save of the year with four strikeouts in three innings.
