Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown State freshman Addy Jarvis was named the Horizon League Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Jarvis, who earned the first weekly award of her career, went 1-1 with a 0.50 earned-run average on the week and led the Penguins to their first victory of the season. Jarvis struck out 18 batters in 14 innings and allowed just seven hits and one earned run.
She posted a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a 2-0 win over Bryant on March 9. Against Marist on March 10, Jarvis tied a career-high with nine strikeouts and allowed just five hits and one earned run in a 2-0 loss.
