Softball Drops Pair to UIC on Saturday

The Youngstown State softball team dropped a doubleheader to UIC, 13-0, and 10-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Covelli Sport Complex. 

With the losses the Penguins fall to 22-27 overall and 10-9 in the Horizon League. UIC improves to 28-20 overall and 18-3 in the league and clinched the No. 1 seed in the 2019 Horizon League Softball Championship.

In the opener, Yazmine Romero went 2-for-2 for the Penguins.

In game two, senior Dani Dadig went 1-for-3 with a run batted in.

Freshman Alex DeLeon also drove in a run on a bases-loaded hit by pitch.

Youngstown State closes out the regular season with a three-game series at Green Bay, May 3-4.
