Knoxville, Tenn. - The Youngstown State track and field team traveled to Tennessee for the three-day Tennessee Relays meet that started on Thursday. There were only four events that athletes were competing in on Thursday, those being the men and women's 10,000 meter run and hammer throw.
In the hammer throw, freshman Conner Neu was able to finish in the top 10. He had a throw of 60.84 meters to make it one of his top throws of the year to finish in seventh place missing out of the top five by just 2.16 meters.
Junior Nick Gliha and freshman Jon Richmond competed in the men's 10,000-meter run and were both able to slide in the top 10 as well. Gliha ran a time of 30:34.25 to capture the sixth-place spot and Richmond was able to run under 34:00 minutes with a time of 33:21.34 to finish in 10th place. Gliha's time in the 10,000m run was his fastest time of the season and Richmond's time was equivalent to his personal best for the year.
The Penguins continued the meet today starting with the field events at 10:00am followed by the running events which started at 11 a.m.
