The Youngstown State track and field team had a busy two days with members of the team competing in three different meets across the country.
On Friday and Saturday, nearly 20 members were in action at the Mt. SAC Relays in California while others competed at the Northeast Ohio Quad and the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.

In the women's sprint events, Jaliyah Elliott had a time of 11.86 seconds in the 100m dash while Taylor Thompkins clocked a time of 12.19 seconds in the 100m as well. In the hurdles, Amber Eles ran a time of 14.71 seconds in the 100m hurdles and Taylor McDonald had a 1:01.11 to place eighth in the 400m hurdles.
Late Friday at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic, freshman Ryan Roush broke the YSU 10.000m school record running a time of 29:34.12. Roush eclipsed the previous standard of 30:00.99 set by Ryan Sullivan last year.
Other Penguins who were in action at Bucknell were Melissa Klim who ran a 19:44.14 in the 5,000m, Suzanne Koziol who ran an 11:50.75 in the steeplechase Libby Rogenski who clocked a 12:21.19 in the steeplechase, Dylan Dombi had a time of 30:56.74 in the 10,000m and Mike Dahman ran a 33:46.13 in the 10,000m.
Northeast Ohio Quad Recap
Brendon Lucas and Kesihawnna Burts won events to lead the Penguins who competed the Northeast Ohio Quad on Saturday.
Burts won the 400m with a time of 56.22 seconds and was second in the 200m with a time of 24.03 seconds.
Iva Domitrovich was fourth with a time of 56.89 seconds in the 400m
Lucas won the 200m dash with a time of 21.19 seconds while also finishing fourth in the 400m with a time of 48.85 seconds.
Tim Holzapfel ran a career-best time of 14.36 seconds to place second in the 110 hurdles. Jacob Wison had a second-place throw in the javelin with a toss of 58.29m.
