Lewisburg, Pa. - Youngstown State's Jaynee Corbett finished fourth in the shot put and the Penguins' middle distance runners had one of the top group performances in school history at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic over the weekend.
Corbett was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 14.93m. Freshman Katilyn Merwin was 15th at 12.66m and Nicolette Kreatsoulas had a mark of 11.91m.
The distance group had top-10 marks in the 800m, 1,500m, the 5,000m and the steeplechase.
Klim ran a career-best time of 17:21.49 in the 5,000m run. That time was the fourth-fastest in school history in the event and was 20 seconds better than her previous top finish.
Squatrito ran a pair of top three times in the 800m and the 1,500m. In the 800m on Sunday, she ran a time of 2:24.90. The previous day she ran a time of 4:39.56 in the 1,500m run.
Morgan Buckley added the eighth-best time in school history in the steeplechase clocking an 11:43.92.
Dombi clocked a time of 3:52.67 in the 1,500m the best time for a Penguin in the event since March 2016 and fourth-fastest in school history.
Sean Peterson ran a time of 1:54.59 in the 800m on Sunday, which was the eighth-fastest mark in school history. On Saturday, he clocked a time of 3:53.63 in the 1,500m, the sixth-fastest time.
Various members of the squad will be in action on Thursday at the Slippery Rock Open while others will compete at the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by Ohio State on April 20-21.
