The Youngstown State women's basketball coaching staff is still accepting registrations for its camp series this summer on YSU's campus.

Fresh off the program's second 20-win season in the last three years, Head Coach John Barnes and his staff will hold two sessions of an elite camp for high school players looking to play at the collegiate level on June 21 and Aug. 2. There will also be a half-day individual camp running from June 29 through July 2 and a team camp on June 27.

The elite camp will be designed for players entering grades nine through 12 this coming fall who wish to develop and showcase their talents as they prepare to play in college. The camp will be heavy on competition and scrimmaging with drills and station work also on the agenda. There will be a lunch break built in, and concessions will be available for purchase. Camp will go from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both June 21 and Aug. 2, and the cost for each session will be $75.

The focus of the individual half-day camp will be to improve the all-around game. Campers will participate in drills geared toward skill development in ball-handling, passing, shooting, defense and rebounding, and there will also be individual and team competitions with awards. Campers will be separated into groups based on age and skill level, and there will be a maximum of 10 campers per instructor. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day from Monday, June 29, through Thursday, July 2, in the Stambaugh Stadium Gymnasiums. The camp will cost $115, and attendees will receive prizes and a t-shirt. Concessions will be available on site.

In the team camp, teams will be guaranteed four games with certified high school officials, and there will be an effort to match teams against clubs of similar talent to ensure competitive games. Instruction time will be built into the camp. The cost will be $275 per team, and all games will be played in Beeghly Center and the Stambaugh Stadium Gymnasiums.
