The 12th Annual Youngstown State Women's Basketball Golf Outing was sold out again, and pleasant weather resulted in favorable conditions over the weekend at Knoll Run Golf Course in Coitsville, Ohio.
"It's always evident every year at the golf outing how lucky our program is to have the support it does in the community," head coach John Barnes said. "We reached capacity again, and this was the most successful outing we've ever had in terms of money raised. My staff and our team would like to thank all 36 foursomes, the sponsors and our dedicated golf committee for the efforts in helping us raise funds for our program's success."
The winners of the men's and women's divisions were repeat champions. Jack Cramb's Power Management foursome shot an outing-best 18-under par to take the men's division by one stroke. Karen Peters' group won the mixed division by two strokes with a 16-under par score of 56. Two strokes also separated the women's division as Jack Colonna's crew was 10-under par.
Closest to the pin prizes went to Rick Huston (seniors) on the fifth green, Lori Commings (women) on the ninth and Chuck Montgomery (men) on the 11th. The winners of the longest drive competition on the fourth hole were Jamie Dunn (seniors), Colin Clemente (men) and Angela Molaskey (women). Joe Santisi made the longest putt on the eighth green.
