Youngstown State's Chelsea Olson has been named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Olson averaged 11 points and 5.5 rebounds last week as the Penguins split a pair of contests at Beeghly Center. The native of Westby, Wis., posted her first double-double in the win over Northern Kentucky on Thursday with 16 points and a career-best 11 rebounds. Olson then scored six points and notched three assists against Wright State on Saturday.
Olson was also the league's honoree on Jan. 22 after scoring 26 points, the highest total by a freshman in the conference this season, in the win at Cleveland State.
For the year, Olson is averaging 7.1 points and 3.2 rebounds to go along with 22 assists and 15 blocks. She is shooting 42.2 percent from the field, the best among all of YSU's guards, and 37.5 percent from 3-point range.
Olson and the Penguins will begin a four-game road swing at Oakland on Thursday.
