Youngstown State redshirt senior Sarah Cash has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for the period of Jan. 14-20, the conference office announced on Monday.
Cash earns the award for the fourth time in her career and for the first time in 2018-19. She is the fourth different Penguin to earn the distinction this season, and she was also named the conference player of the week by College Sports Madness.
Cash scored 22 points in 24 minutes to help Youngstown State hand Wright State its first league loss with an 83-68 win on Friday. The Lordstown, Ohio, native took over the game in the third quarter, going 6-for-6 from the field and scoring 12 points as YSU added eight points to its lead.
Cash ranks seventh in the Horizon League in scoring at 13.1 points per game, and she rank second in field-goal percentage (.569) and free-throw percentage (.837).
