Youngstown State is holding a “Teddy Bear Toss” at halftime of the YSU women’s basketball game on Wednesday to benefit Mercy Health.

Fans who bring a teddy bear or other new stuffed animal to the Penguins’ game against Akron and throw it onto the court during halftime will receive a voucher for one free ticket to any future home basketball game. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to Mercy Health for the holidays.

The Penguins and Zips will tip at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Beeghly Center. Advance tickets for the contest are available by calling (330) 941-1YSU or at the Stambaugh Stadium Athletic Ticket Office, which is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through Wednesday. The ticket office in Beeghly Center and gates will open on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

There will also be a “Teddy Bear Toss” at the YSU men’s game against Central Michigan on Dec. 4. For more information on the “Teddy Bear Toss”, call (330) 941-7229.
