Jenn Lawrence completed her second season as video coordinator and operations assistant with the Youngstown State women's basketball program in 2017-18.
In her first season, YSU earned its third postseason tournament berth in four years by playing in the Women’s Basketball Invitational. The postseason became a reality as the Penguins won nine of their final 11 regular-season games, including six straight on the road. The strong close to the season saw YSU’s RPI jump 113 spots.
Most recently in 2018-19, Youngstown State went 22-10 and earned at-large berth into the Women’s NIT. The Penguins set new program records with 16 home victories and 13 Horizon League wins. YSU advanced to the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament for the second straight season, and the Penguins won at least 21 games in the regular season for just the fifth time in program history.
A familiar face on the Penguins' bench, Lawrence also served as a student manager and basketball operations intern in 2015-16 and 2016-17. In her new capacity, she coordinates video exchange, supervises student managers, prepares for practice, serves as the contact for community service projects and oversees the ball girls program.
In her previous position as a Penguin, she helped with film exchange, training team managers, setting up practices and games, supervising ball girls and assisting with visiting team travel. She also assisted with office work, team travel and summer camps.
Lawrence is a graduate of the University of Mount Union, where she was very active with the Alpha Phi Omega service organization. While at UMU, Lawrence served a three-month internship in ticket sales with the WNBA's Washington Mystics.
