Records Fall Again for Bowling at Warhawk Classic

The Youngstown State broke three more school records, and Rachel Darrow and Emma Dockery both placed in the top 15 on the second day of the Warhawk Classic presented by RotoGrip in Milwaukee.

Darrow broke her own school record for total pinfall in a tournament with 1,077, and Dockery finished two pins behind her and would have also broken the previous record. Additionally, Darrow tied Alexis Grim's school record for highest game with a 258.

As a team, YSU totaled 4,848 pins in the five team games, which was a program record. The Penguins' score of 1,052 in the opening match was another school record.

Youngstown State sits 11th overall in total pinfall as the tournament moves to a best-of-seven Baker game bracket format on Sunday.

Darrow placed 12th individually with her 1,077, and Dockery was 13th with a 1,075. Emily Dietz finished 37th with a 974, Nikki Mendez was 58th with an 875, and Rachel Ellis placed 62nd with an 847.

The Penguins began the day with a 1,052-1,028 victory over No. 14 Lincoln Memorial, and they followed with a 1,014-832 win over Lewis to improve to 2-0. The Penguins fell 922-880 to No. 9 Fairleigh Dickinson, but they rebounded to beat Valparaiso 943-921 for their third win of the day. YSU fell 1,110-959 to No. 5 Arkansas State in the final match to finish the day 3-2.

Youngstown State will get a rematch with Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday morning in the first round of bracket play at 9:30 a.m. Eastern.
