The Youngstown State women's golf team will play their second event of the season on Saturday and Sunday at the 2017 Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational in State College, Pa.

The event will feature 13 other schools including Bucknell, Columbia, Delaware, Harvard, Maryland, Ohio, Penn, Princeton, Rutgers, Seton Hall, South Florida, Yale and the host team, Penn State.

The tournament will take place on Penn State's Blue Course with the teams playing 36 holes on Saturday and 18 more on Sunday. Both days will feature a shotgun start with play beginning at 9 a.m. The course will play approximately 6,250 yards and par is 72.

Head Coach Nate Miklos has announced YSU's lineup will feature junior Megan Creager and senior Courtney Shutt as well as freshmen Haylee McGovernKara Raines and Tori Utrup

Thoughts from Coach Miklos: "We've had a chance to work on some things since our first event and have definitely made some progress in the last two weeks. Playing in a quality event like this at Penn State is a great opportunity for the team. It gives us a great chance to see how we stack up against a quality field. It's also our first 54 hole event of the year with 36 holes on the first day and 18 more the second day, which is always a great test of endurance. We've been working really hard lately and are excited about getting into the heart of our fall schedule at Penn State this weekend."
