The Youngstown State women's golf team will open the 2018-19 season on Sept. 3-4 when it plays host to the fifth annual Roseann Schwartz Invitational at Mill Creek Park Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio. The event is named in honor of Roseann Schwartz, who was the YSU women's golf coach from 1996 until 2013. The Penguins released their schedule for the fall portion of the campaign earlier this week.
"I'm very pleased with the way the schedule came together this fall," Head Coach Nate Miklos said. "We have a very strong group this year and they are ready to compete at a high level." After hosting the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, YSU will travel to Batavia, Ohio, the following week (Sept. 10-11) for the NKU Collegiate Classic hosted by Horizon League foe Northern Kentucky at Elks Run Golf Club.
The Penguins will continue their fall slate Sept. 22-23 against a competitive field at the Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State in State College, Pa. YSU will follow that up by facing another strong field on Sept. 29-30 when it competes in the Princeton University Invitational at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, N.J. The Guins will return to the state of Ohio to conclude their fall schedule with the University of Dayton Fall Invitational at NCR Country Club in Kettering (Oct. 15-16).
"We love opening the season at Mill Creek with our Roseann Schwartz Invitational and we're also excited about the chance to play against a strong field at NKU that will include several of our Horizon League opponents," Miklos said. "Then we'll really get an opportunity to test ourselves against two incredible fields at Penn State and Princeton before we finish the fall season at Dayton."
