Women's Golf to Open Season Monday with Roseann Schwartz Invitational

The Youngstown State women's golf team will begin its 2018-19 season on Monday as the Penguins play host to the fifth annual Roseann Schwartz Invitational at Mill Creek Park Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.

The event will feature nine other schools including Cleveland State, Indiana State, Marshall, Niagara, Purdue Fort Wayne and St. Francis (Pa.). In addition, Mount St. Mary's will have three golfers competing as individuals. YSU will be paired with Cleveland State and Marshall.

The tournament will be played on Mill Creek Park's North Course and admission for fans is free. The teams will play single rounds on Monday and Tuesday. Monday's round is set to start at 8 a.m. with tee times until 11 a.m. while a shotgun start is set for 9 a.m. on Tuesday. The course will play 5,957 yards and par is 72.

Head Coach Nate Miklos has announced that YSU's lineup will feature junior Katlyn Shutt, freshmen Puthita Khuanrudee, Rattika Sittigool and Victoria Grans as well as senior Megan Creager. Sophomores Kara Raines and Tori Utrup and freshmen Britney Jonda and Jenna Vivo will also be playing as individuals.

  • Grans - 8:20
  • Sittigool - 8:30
  • Khuanrudee - 8:40
  • Shutt - 8:50
  • Jonda - 9:00
  • Utrup, Vivo - 9:10

This event is named in honor of Roesann Schwartz, who was YSU's women's golf coach from 1996 until 2013.
