Penguins Travel to Northern Kentucky This Weekend

The Youngstown State women's soccer team travels to Northern Kentucky on Saturday, Sept. 22 to take on the Norse at 4 p.m. from the NKU Soccer Stadium. 

Last Time Out
The Penguins lost 1-0 to Milwaukee on Friday, Sept. 14, and lost at Bowling Green, 6-0, on Sunday, Sept. 16.

About Northern Kentucky
The Norse enter the contest with a 5-3 record and a 1-0 record in the Horizon League after defeating Green Bay 2-1 last weekend. Northern Kentucky has three players leading the team with seven points apiece, including Emily Soltes and Shawna Zaken who each have a team leading three goals and one assist. Samantha Duwel has a team-high five assists along with one goal to also give her seven points.

The Northern Kentucky Series
This is the fifth meeting between YSU and Northern Kentucky in a series that dates back to 2012. The Norse hold a 4-0 advantage in the all-time series including a 7-1 win in last years matchup at Farmers National Bank Field. 

Hughes Moving Up the Record Books
Senior defender Madison Hughes has been a staple on the back line since her freshman season. Hughes has started in 62 career games and is currently 2 starts away from entering the Top 10 in matches started all-time at Youngstown State.
