Women's Soccer Falls on Senior Day to Robert Morris

Youngstown, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's soccer team lost 2-0 to Robert Morris on a rainy Sunday afternoon from Farmers National Bank Field at the Covelli Sports Complex.

The Penguins fall to 1-5-2 while the Colonials improve to 2-6.

Robert Morris scored both of their goals in the first half off the foot of Jane Schleicher. Schleicher scored in the 35th minute and then again in the 41st minute.

YSU had their chances in the second half registering eight shots and forcing Robert Morris goalkeeper Julia Schmid to make four saves, including seven for the game.

The Penguins outshot the Colonials 14-8 and took more corner kicks, 2-1. Katie Hackos and Lauren Snow led the way for YSU, each recording three shots. Zeeyana Jivraj made three saves on the afternoon.

The Penguins begin Horizon League play on Friday, Sept. 14 when they host Milwaukee at 7 p.m. from Farmers Bank National Field.
