Women's Soccer Falls at Buffalo in Exhibition Match

Buffalo, New York - The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped their final exhibition match by a score of 2-0 to Buffalo on Sunday afternoon at UB Stadium.

The Bulls got on the scoreboard early when Andrianna VanCuyck scored just eight minutes into the match. Sophormore Zeeyana Jivraj got the start in goal for the Penguins and made four saves during the first half. 

Buffalo extended their in the 59th minute when a shot from Riley Bowers found the back of the net. Freshman Mackenzie Simon made two saves during the second half in goal for YSU.

For the game, the Bulls outshot the Penguins 18-6, and held the advantage in corners, 7-1. Freshman Regan LaVigna led the way for the Penguins with three shots while Marcella Sizer had two and Ashley Dibble finished with one.

YSU opens regular season play on Friday, August 23, at 7 p.m. when they host Purdue Fort Wayne from Farmers National Bank Field in the Covelli Sports Complex.
