Women's Soccer Falls at Duquesne

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - The Youngstown State women's soccer team fell by a score of 6-0 to Duquesne on Sunday afternoon at Arthur J. Rooney Field. 

The Dukes improve to 2-2-2 while the Penguins drop to 2-5-1.

The Dukes took the lead late in the first half when Lauren Bell connected on a pass with Natalie Bell who put in the back of the net in the 39th mintue to go ahead 1-0. 

During the first half, Duquesne out shot YSU 14-2 and had more corner kicks, 2-1. Kate McEachern was solid in net making six saves while Abriana Rondin and Regan LaVigna each recorded a shot for the Penguins. 

Duquense opened the second half with a pair of goals in two minutes to take a 3-0 lead. Debaldo scored her second goal of the half in the 60th minute and Tori Kopchak scored two minutes later to give the Dukes a 5-0 lead.

For the game, McEachern finished with 11 saves while five different Penguins recorded at least one shot. 

The Penguins begin Horizon League play on Friday, September 20 when they travel to Oakland to play the Golden Grizzlies at 7 p.m. from the Oakland Soccer Field.
