Penguins Drop Exhibition Match to Ohio

Youngstown, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's soccer team lost their exhibition game to Ohio, 6-1, on Friday evening at Farmers National Bank Field in the Covelli Sports Complex.

Freshman Addie Roman scored the lone goal for the Penguins when she kicked a strike from just past the midfield line that found its way into the back of the net.

The Bobcats scored four goals in the first half, including two off the foot of Maddie Young. Ohio added two more goals in the second half before Roman's goal made the score 6-1.

Junior Kate McEachern played the first half in goal for the Penguins making six saves, while Samantha Susi made four saves during the second half.

For the game, Ohio outshot the Penguins 29-8 and held the advantage in the corners 13-2. 

The Penguins return to action on Sunday when they travel to Buffalo for their final exhibition game against the Bulls at 2 p.m. from from UB Stadium.
