Chicago, Ill. - Youngstown State senior Bec Stafford was second in the one-meter dive while junior Viktoria Orosz finished third in the 200-yard freestyle to highlight the Penguins' efforts on day three of the Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships at the UIC Natatorium
Orosz third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.89. Winning the event was Milwaukee's Mandie Siehs with a time of 1:49.18 while UIC's Lexie Joy was second at 1:49.65. Orosz had the fastest second 50-yard split at 27.23 seconds.
For Orosz it was her seventh top-three finish at the Horizon League Championships in her career. In three races in the 200, she has finished third twice and second.
YSU had two finishers in the top 16 at the 100-yard breaststroke. Tiphanie Saint-Gilles was 13th with a time of 1:04.86 while Hannah Reynolds was 15th at 1:05.63.
Haley Fisher was 15th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.12 seconds.
To conclude the night, the Penguins were seventh in the 400-yard medley relay clocking a time of 3:52.94.
In the team standings, YSU sits seventh with 261 points while Oakland is the leader by 90 points with a team score of 539.50.
