Penguins Win Four Events in Dual Meet Against Duquesne

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Youngstown State swimming and diving team won both diving events and the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard breaststroke against Duquesne.

Winning events for the Penguins were McKenzie Stelter (one-meter dive) , Bethany Glick (three-meter dive) Aida Jurinovics (200 butterfly) and Tiphaine Saint-Gilles (200 breaststroke).

On Friday afternoon at the Beeghly Natatorium, Stelter won the one-meter dive with a score of 257.92 while Glick was second with a 247.28. In the three-meter, Glick took first with a score of 259.20 while Stelter was second with a 236.39.

Jurinovics had a swim of 2:05.81 to win the 200-yard butterfly. It was the second straight dual where she won an event. Saint-Gilles won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.04. 

Other strong finishes for the Penguins included Madison Aranda who was third in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:42.82, Taylor Bishop was third in the 200 free with a time of 1:58.52 and third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.26 seconds. Also, Jamie Leming was third in the 100-yard back with a time of 1:00.90. 

The Dukes won the dual by a score of 168-125.
