Indianapolis - The Youngstown State swimming and diving team won 10 individual events at IUPUI on Saturday as the Penguins claimed a 153-147 dual victory over the Jaguars at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Viktoria Orosz, Tiphaine Saint-Gilles, Aida Jurinovics and Taylor Bishop each picked up a pair of wins. Rachel Shipp (100-yard butterfly) and Bethany Glick (three-meter dive) added to the first-place haul for the Guins who picked up their first dual win of the season.
Orosz won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.06 while Bishop was second (1:55.86) and Paris Krug placed third (1:57.14). Orosz claimed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.56 seconds. Orosz picked up a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:12.08).
Saint-Gilles won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.24 and took first in the 200 breast posting a time of 2:25.55.
Jurinovics took first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.12 and won the 200 IM swimming a time of 2:10.19.
Shipp won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.48 seconds while Haley Fisher was third at 59.75 seconds.
Bishop picked up a win of her own swimming a time of 24.87 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to win by 0.07 seconds. Jonsdottir was third with a time of 25.02 seconds.
In the 500 free, Bishop had an impressive performance winning by more than four seconds. Bishop was first with a time of 5:09.13 while Jurinovics was second at 5:13.93.
Glick took first in the three-meter dive scoring a 295.35. Mackenzie Stelter placed third in the one-meter with a score of 246.80 and was also third in the three-meter with a score of 267.25.
Natalie Laurence placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:10.18.
The Penguins are in action on Sunday at the Butler Invitational. The event starts at noon.
