Cleveland, Ohio - Youngstown State freshman Aida Jurinovics set a school record in the 400 IM while divers McKenzie Stelter and Bethany Glick finished in the top four in both diving events at the three-day Magnus Cup Invitational which concluded on Sunday at CSU's Buseby Natatorium.
Stelter was second in the one-meter dive with a score of 243.40 while Glick was third with a 240.50. In the three-meter, Glick was second with an NCAA Zone C Qualifying mark of 282.40 points. Stelter also had a season-best performance with a 258 to place fourth overall.
Jurinovics was third in the 400-yard IM with an impressive time of 4:25.61. She was 12th in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:04.90 and in the 200 IM, she swam a time of 2:07.34 to finish 15th.
Taylor Bishop finished 13th in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:49.23. She also posted a time of 53.42 seconds in the 100 freestyle.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Tiphaine Saint Gilles placed 10th with a time of 2:22.11. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Saint Gilles swam a time of 1:05.34 to place 14th.
In the 200 IM, Sydney Gonzalez was 17th with a time of 2:08.49.
Gonzalez was 16th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:33.71. Leming was 17th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.39 seconds.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Kolbrun Jonsdottir swam a finals time of 25.02 after posting a 24.75 in the prelims. Other swimmers for YSU in the event included Taylor Bishop 24.86 seconds and Leming 25.01 seconds, Orosz 25.17 seconds and Shay Hollow posted a career-best 25.54 seconds.
Viktoria Orosz placed 19th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:07.64 while Madison Aranda swam a time of 5:10.25. Orosz clocked a time of 1:54.96 in the 200-yard freestyle. She was 16th in the 200-yard backstroke swimming a time of 2:07.70. Natalie Laurence was 18th in the 200 back with a time of 2:08.76.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Jonsdottir, Bishop, Leming and Fisher swam a time of 1:38.71. In the 400-yard medley relay Leming, Saint Gilles, Jurinovics and Orosz clocked a time of 3:55.28. In the 200-yard medley relay, Jamie Leming, Saint Gilles, Shipp and Bishop swam a 1:48.23. In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Jurnovics, Bishop, Aranda and Orosz clocked a time of 7:47.09. In the 400-yard freestyle, Fisher, Bishop, Jonsdottir and Orosz posted a time of 3:35.09.
In the team standings, YSU finished seventh scoring 245 points. Akron won the event with a total of 1,809.5 points, Duquesne was second with 1,315 points and Xavier was third at 909. Overall, 15 teams competed in the meet.
