Indianapolis, Ind. - Freshman Tess Weiskopf finished sixth in the one-meter dive to lead the Youngstown State swimming and diving team on the second day of action at the Horizon League Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Weiskopf scored 205.20 points in the finals to finish sixth. Also in the one-meter event. Kayla Wrasman was 15th with a score of 185.55 points.
In 500 freestyle, freshman Taci Miller placed 12th with a personal-best time of 5:03.51. Other finishers for YSU in the 500 free were Taylor Bishop at 5:09.35, Paris Krug at 5:09.36, Josie Preski at 5:11.08, Allyson Wilson at 5:16.57 and Elizabeth Wompey at 5:17.77. Miller's effort was the fifth-best time in school history in the event.
In the 50 freestyle, Casey Prentice was 13th with a time of 24.05 seconds. Prentice had a personal-best time of 23.85 seconds in the prelims which ranks third in school history. Also in the 50 freestyle, Hannah Olger had a time of 24.49 seconds, Tiphaine Saint-Gilles posted a time of 25.15 seconds, Jamie Leming finished with a time of 25.25 seconds and Mallory Pitstick had a time of 25.51 seconds.
In the 200 IM, Zsani Csado swam a prelim time of 2:09.18.
To conclude the evening, YSU posted a time of 1:36.81 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The time was a season-best and ranked seventh in school history.
In the team race, YSU has 98 points after the first two days. Oakland leads with an impressive 295 points while IUPUI is second.
The Penguins are back in action on Friday as they will compete in the 100-yard Butterfly, 400-yard IM, 200-yard Freestyle, 100-yard Breaststroke, 100-yard Backstroke and the 400-yard Medley Relay.
