YSU Heads To Ohio, Butler In Busy Final Weekend

The Youngstown State swimming and diving team will be in action on Saturday morning when the Penguins face Ohio at the Ohio University Aquatic Center. The dual starts at 11:30 a.m. On Sunday, YSU will swim in the Butler Invitational in Indianapolis.

The Penguins are coming off a strong two-day performance after hosting Illinois and Saint Francis. YSU competed against the Fighting Illini last Friday and Saturday and beat the Red Flash in a dual on Friday evening.

Leading the way for the Penguins was Tiphaine Saint-Gilles who won three events in the two-day meet. Saint-Gilles claimed first in both 100-yard breaststroke events and won the 200 on Friday. On Saturday against Illinois, Saint-Gilles, Hannah Olger, Zsani Csado and Aida Jurinovics all picked up event victories.

After competing against the Bobcats on Saturday morning, the Penguins will head to Indianapolis for the one-day Butler Invitational on Sunday. YSU will swim against St. Louis, Butler, Xavier, Valpariso, Western Illinois, IUPUI and Ball State at the meet held in Fishers, Ind.

The two contests are YSU's final events before it will compete at the Horizon League Championships which are Feb. 13-16 at the IUPUI Natatorium.
