The Youngstown State women's tennis team opens the Horizon League potion of its schedule on Friday when the Penguins play host to UIC. YSU also entertains Valparaiso on Saturday.
Friday's match with the Flames is set for 6 p.m. at the Boardman Tennis Center while Saturday's match against the Crusaders will begin at six o'clock at the Boardman Tennis Center.
The Penguins are 6-7 this year and have won two of their last three dual matches. UIC enters Friday night's match with a 9-4 overall record and is on a three-match win streak. Valpo is 1-9 entering Saturday's match with the Guins.
The Penguins have won four of the past five contests against the Flames. UIC defeated YSU 5-2 in the regular season in Chicago, but the Guins got the best of the Flames 4-1 in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament.
Against Valpo, the Guins have won all 13 all-time meetings.
YSU was 7-2 in Horizon League play last season and the past four years has posted a 26-6 regular-season league record.
