Penguins Set to Play Three Matches in California

The Youngstown State women's tennis team heads to California this week to play three matches during the school's Spring Break week.

YSU takes on Cal State Fullerton on Sunday at 3:30 p.m., Cal State Northridge on Monday at 5 p.m. and Long Beach State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. All times listed are Eastern.

The Penguins (3-8) were last in action on Feb. 28 when they played at pair of matches at Ohio State. Highlighting the performance against the Buckeyes was a win at No. 2 singles by Tamara Teufl over No. 48 ranked Kolie Allen. 

Teufl leads the Penguins this spring with six dual wins while Lucia Zagar has five victories.

Series Notes

  • This will be the Penguins' first contests against Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State.
  • YSU has played Cal State Northridge on two previous occasions. YSU dropped contests to the Matadors last March (5-2) and in March of 2015 (7-0).
