The Youngstown State women's tennis team capped off the 2018-19 year with a pair of victories.

  • In Horizon League play, the Guins beat conference champion, UIC, and defeated IUPUI and Green Bay.
  • YSU won non-conference contests against Saint Francis (Pa.), Dayton and UTEP.
  • Junior Imaan Hassim was named second-team All-Horizon League and Academic All-Horizon League.
  • YSU had a knack for playing close matches with eight contests decided by a score of 4-3.
  • In Horizon League doubles matches, YSU was 14-9. Hassim and Teufl teammed up to post a 6-1 mark.
  • Tamara Teufl picked up a singles victory against Ohio State. It was the first time YSU earned a point against the Buckeyes.
  • Lucia Zagar posted a team-best 14-13 record and went 10-9 in dual matches.
  • Zagar, Lisa Khamassi and Teufl led the squad with five Horizon League wins each.
  • Teufl ended the year on a three-match winning streak.
  • Teulf led the team with 13 doubles victories.
  • YSU played four teams that made the NCAA Tournament - UIC, Ohio State, Long Beach State and UNLV.
  • YSU played matches in Michigan, California, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Indiana.
