The Youngstown State women's tennis team plays their ninth dual match of the season on Friday when it plays host to Toledo on Friday at the Western Reserve Racquet Club in Streetsboro, Ohio. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
YSU (3-5) has been busy playing its first eight matches of the year in only 16 days. The contest against the Rockets (4-1) is the Guins' only match until March 10.
The Penguins wrapped up a trip to Las Vegas with a 4-3 win over UTEP last Saturday night. Cassandra Moraleja picked up the decisive win over the Miners at No. 3 singles. The Penguins dropped the doubles point before rallying to win four of six singles matches to earn the win. It was a great bounce-back effort for the Guins who dropped a tough 4-3 decision to Weber State earlier in the day.
On Friday, YSU will welcome back No. 1 player Imaan Hassim. Hassim was out of the lineup last weekend playing in a Fed Cup match for her native South Africa.
Toledo enters the contest on a two-match winning streak after beating Horizon League members Wright State and Cleveland State.
- YSU's last victory over the Rockets was on Jan. 28, 2006 (6-1).
- Toledo leads the all-time series 17-2. UT won last year's dual 5-2 on Feb. 2.
