Volleyball Gets Swept at Northern Kentucky

The Youngstown State volleyball team started its weekend road trip by being swept at Northern Kentucky on Friday evening. The set scores were 25-19, 25-22, 25-15.

The Norse had four players finish with at least 10 kills, and they had 49 kills as a team. Keely Creamer had 12 kills on a .429 attack percentage, and Jayden Julian matched her with 12 kills. Mel Stewart posted 27 digs to help NKU hold the Penguins to 26 kills on a .130 attack percentage.

Lauren Thompson and Lori Vanbeek both had six kills, and Vanbeek added a match-high four blocks for Youngstown State. Jessie Gerig had team-high honors with 10 digs.

Youngstown State will play at Oakland on Saturday at 4 p.m.
