Leesburg, Va. - Michelle Klim finished 11th while freshman Tyler Polman was 31st to lead the Youngstown State cross country teams on Saturday morning at the George Mason Invitational at the Oatlands Plantation.
For the women, Klim had a time of 21:12.2 in the 6K race. Freshman Ashleigh Rowley finished 26th with a time of 23:59.7, Suzanne Koziol was 29th running a time of 24:09.3, Natalie Fleming finished 31st with a 24:15.1 and Xena Maali was 44th with a time of 24:44.7.
In the team standings, YSU placed fourth out of eight teams scoring 127 points.
For the men, Tyler Polman was 31st in the 8K race running a time of 26:49. Other finishers for the Penguins were Cole Lovett who finished 60th with a time of 28:11, Derek Basinger was 62nd clocking a time of 28:15, Sean Peterson was 67th with a time of 28:31, Derek Morrison finished 79th with a time 29:30 while C.J. Schumacher had a time of 30:36 and Anthony Linert ran a 31:43.
In the team scoring, YSU finished eighth out of 10 teams scoring 237 points.
The Penguins are next in action on Oct. 7 when they run at the Disney World Classic in Orlando.
