Men's Cross Country Records Best Regional Finish in Program History Placing 11th

Terre Haute, Ind. -- The Youngstown State men's cross country team posted the best finish in program history at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional by placing 11th. The Penguins defeated the likes of Akron, Marquette, Ohio State, Xavier, and Indiana State.

Senior Ryan Sullivan finished 26th with a time of 31:41 while C.J. Schumacher was 77th with a time of 32:37, which ranks tied for ninth all-time in school history in the 10K. Derek Basinger's time of 32:47 ranks tied for 15th in school history and placed him 88th.

Senior Alan Burns posted a time of 32:48 while Tyler Polman ran a 33:14, Dylan Dombi posted a time of 33:20 and James Nedrich ran a 34:02.

The Youngstown State women's team placed 27th at the regional.

Nicole Squatrito led the Penguins with a time of 22:51 while Maggie Sebest posted a time of 22:56. Senior Jennifer Muhlenkamp ran a 23:18, Mackenzie Scott recored a time of 23:24 while Natalie Fleming and Morgan Buckley posted times of 23:43 and 24:56, respectively.
