Cross Country Announces 2019 Schedule

2019 Schedule

The Youngstown State men's and women's cross country teams will compete and six races before heading to the Horizon League Championships in Highland Heights, Ky., on Nov. 2, Head Coach Brian Gorby announced.

YSU's men's team is seeking its second straight and third league championship in four years while the women's program looks for its first league title since 2014.

The Penguins open the 2019 campaign at the Duquesne Duals on Aug. 31 before competing in the 51st Annual Tommy Evans Invitational at the University of Akron on Sept. 7.

After a three-week hiatus, YSU will compete at the All-Ohio Cross Country Championship in Cedarville, Ohio, on Sept. 29. The Penguins then to the Joe Piane Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational in South Bend, Ind., on Oct. 4.

The following week, the Penguins run at the 2019 Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla., on Oct. 12.

Youngstown State's final race prior to the league championships is at the Canisius Alumni Cross Country Classic on Oct. 19 in Buffalo, N.Y.

The NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis., is Nov. 15, while the NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind.
