Youngstown State Men’s Basketball Signs Jacob Brown to NLI

Jacob Brown has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and basketball career at Youngstown State University, YSU men's basketball Jerrod Calhoun announced on Monday.

Brown, a 6-foot-9 forward from Clemmons, N.C., spent last season at Forest Hill Academy and averaged 16.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He was also named to the Triad High School All-Star Classic.

"Jacob has a tremendous upside," Calhoun said. "He's long and lanky and a very skilled, well-rounded player. He is a good fit for our style of play."

As a junior, Brown earned all-conference honors after averaging 15.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game at Calvary Day High School.

He averaged 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per as a sophomore at Winston-Salem Christian High School.

Brown joins Naz Bohannon (Lorain, Ohio) in Youngstown State's 2017-18 men's basketball recruiting class.
