Jenn Lawrence, a familiar face on the Youngstown State women's basketball bench, has joined the Penguins' staff as video coordinator and operations assistant, YSU head coach John Barnes announced.
Lawrence will remain at YSU after serving as a student manager and basketball operations intern the past two years. In her new capacity, she will coordinate video exchange, supervise student managers, prepare for practice, serve as the contact for community service projects and oversee the ball girls program.
"We are extremely excited about having Jenn stay with our program in a larger capacity," Barnes said. "She demonstrated during her time as a manager that she is a hard worker. Jenn already knows our players and all of our staff, and she is already familiar with our video processes from helping with operations last year. The transition into her new role should be seamless, and our staff will benefit from her addition."
In her previous position as a Penguin, she was in charge of film exchange, training team managers, setting up practices and games, supervising ball girls and assisting with visiting teams. She also assisted previous director of operations Teonna Jewell with daily tasks, office work, team travel and summer camps.
Lawrence is a graduate of the University of Mount Union, where she was very active with the Alpha Phi Omega service organization. While at UMU, Lawrence served a three-month internship in ticket sales with the WNBA's Washington Mystics.
